On August 02, 2016, during a routine examination with my primary care physician, I brought to his attention a swollen gland I had noticed in my neck that seemed to
be getting larger. Upon further examination by my Physician it was determined
that this was an enlarged lymph node and he recommended that I have a CAT SCAN
of the affected area.
On August 15, 2016 I underwent a CAT SCAN and three days later my physician
called me with the results. He said the
CAT Scan had reveled several more large lymph nodes and that this was abnormal.
He then referred me to Dr. Pierre Rivet for a tissue biopsy of one of the
enlarged lymph nodes.
On August 17, 2016, Dr. Rivet performed an excisional node tissue biopsy as
requested by my Primary Care Physician. Prior to the procedure Dr. Rivet had
cautioned me about this type of procedure.
He said tissue biopsies for the most part usually came back inconclusive
and that a second biopsy of the entire lymph node might be needed to get a
diagnosis. As suspected, my tissue biopsy came back inconclusive but suspicious.
On August 29, 2016, Dr. Rivet performed an excision of the
left node with a biopsy.
Dr. Rivet called me at work on Friday, September 02, 2016
and gave me the results of the lymph node biopsy.
I had Classical Hodgkin’s Lymphoma.
